NECK NOTES

Introduction: Notes on the fretboard are either sharp (#), flat (b), or natural (no accidental). It is customary, but not a rule, to call a note "sharp" when ascending (in pitch as opposed to direction) the neck, and "flat" when descending. Notice that the open string notes repeat at the 12th fret.
