CHORD STRUMMING PATTERNS
Introduction: Practice the following strumming patterns in 4/4, 3/4, and 2/4 meters. Using a pick, remember to keep the wrist relaxed and allow most movement to originate from the elbow joint. Use a metronome set at a comfortable rate (e.g., 60 bpm for beginners) and gradually increase the tempo while maintaining smoothness. Eventually, play different chords each time you repeat the measure to practice your chord changes. Make up your own strumming patterns by rearranging the notes within the measure!
