PIE JESU
Introduction: Put your music reading skills to use below. Composed around 1887 in response to the death of his father, Gabriel Faure's Pie Jesu is actually an orchestral piece written for Soprano (read the lyrics below). Guitar I is an adaptation of the melody. Guitar II is played in arpeggio style. Challenge yourself a little more by analyzing the chord structures. If you feel that you need more practice with music notation, download the MP3 (3.2 MB) and learn it by ear.
